ODV SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAOLI – Cantù Conference
In Cantù, the San Vincenzo de Paoli Conference has been present for more than 90 years and works to combat the various forms of poverty. It follows families, minors, the elderly and subjects with disabling pathologies through home visits to identify needs and build paths to overcome the state of need together with those assisted, also offering moral, spiritual and psychological support. It aims to educate active citizenship, social justice, respect for the territory, laws and behavioral norms.
With the funds deriving from donations and events that the Conference organizes in the territory, it offers support for administrative, medical, transportation expenses, food for children, payment of utilities, training or requalification courses for adults to start working. It promotes sports activities for minors as a means of social integration and psychophysical well-being.
Since 2017, it has been involved in the Italian School for Foreigners thanks to the collaboration of volunteer teachers, also offering a babysitting service for children under 3 years of age to encourage attendance at lessons.

The activity is carried out through home visits to understand the needs, not only material, of the assisted.
A financial contribution is offered for medical expenses, school expenses, for means of transport, for administrative procedures, for the registration and attendance of professional courses, for the payment of utilities and for the replacement of household appliances.

Italian school
Italian language school run by the San Vincenzo De Paoli conference for foreign citizens. The lesson is held every Tuesday from 9:30 to 12:30 at the San Michele oratory in via Andina.
To access the service, simply show up for the lesson, fill out the registration form and take a test to understand your level of knowledge of the Italian language and then be assigned to the most suitable study group.

Registration at the course location: Oratorio S. Michele, Via Andina 4 starting from the last Tuesday of September.
The course is structured in weekly lessons of two hours, every Tuesday from 9.30 to 11.30 from October to June
