The Snoezelen approach is a multisensory methodology that uses lights, sounds, scents, and tactile stimuli to promote relaxation, well-being, and communication. It takes place in environments specifically designed to stimulate the senses through soft lighting, colors, sounds, aromas, and materials to explore. The goal is to foster relaxation, well-being, communication, and the active participation of the individual, while respecting their personal timing, preferences, and needs. It is used with children, the elderly, and people with disabilities or cognitive difficulties. Sessions can be individual or in groups, and the environment itself acts as a mediator of the relationship, facilitating interaction.
